LSS OF THE DAY: "ELEPHANT LOVE MEDLEY" FROM MOULIN ROUGE

I have a love-hate relationship with Ewan McGregor's voice. There are times when I just love to listen to his voice, but then there are times when I just wanna get my hands on his neck just to make him shut up. He and Nicole Kidman are pretty good singers. If they practice more, they would be really, really good. The song's very cute! They take a few love songs and put them together; Baz Luhrmann (the director) is bloody brilliant:) Judge for yourself!

I wonder how many times me and my brother watched "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe". We never get tired of it:)

Watched One Tree Hill awhile ago on ETC. I saw that episode before. My sister, who is totally obsessed with OTH, joined this group where they feature the latest episodes that are showing in the U.S. but not here yet in the Philippines. So, basically, I know most of the story because she showed me a lot of episodes already. If anyone wants to know, you gotta force me to tell you:)

I'm avoiding a few people. They keep on texting and it's annoying the hell out of me. In the end, I decided to leave my cellphone in my room. Everytime I checked on it evry few hours, it always says that I have unread messages (usually more than 5). And they always say the same thing! "Hi! Wazzup?", "Are you busy?", "How come your not replying?". It makes me wanna chuck my cellphone at the wall! I only reply to people if they're important. And only IF they're important. If they're not, sorry. I'm not gonna answer it.

Okay, while I was channel surfing (which is basically all I do at the moment) I caught sight of the headline, "CAMPUS MASSACRE" on CNN. That made me go back and sit a bit straighter. Apparently, some "deranged gunman" killed 32 people, 2 of whom were professors and then he killed HIMSELF afterwards. When I saw the place, Virginia Tech University, I panicked slightly because I have relatives living in Virginia and I was hoping that none of them studied there. Thankfully, none of them did study there. I watched it for awhile, then I suddenly remembered an episode from One Tree Hill, where one of the characters brought a gun to the school and started shooting. Only one got hurt, but the gunman killed himself; just like the real-life gunman in Virginia.

The killer was later identified. He was from South Korea, and he goes by the name Cho Seung-Hi, 23 years old, a senior and an English major in the university. He could have graduated this year. He was born on January 18, 1984 and migrated to the U.S. with his parents when he was 8 years old.

I listened to the stories of the students who were lucky enough to survive that bloody massacre and every story sent chills down my spine. I could only imagine myself in their place; locked in the classroom, thinking that their safe, but later someone barges in and starts shooting at them. And you could only watch in horror as student after student fall prey to one person's lust for blood, and thinking if you're gonna be the next target.

Until now, they're still investigating on what were his motives for killing so many people. My sister and I agreed with some of the possible reasons that were announced on the T.V.; it could have been because of racial discrimination or it could have been because he was parnoid about his grades to keep his spot in the university. Maybe he was expecting an "A" from his professor but he got a "B" instead; some people are like that.

He first killed two people in a dormitory on campus; one of them, investigators say, was his ex-girlfriend who, supposedly, "ditched him". And the other was just a guy who got in the way. About two hours later, he entered a building, chained the door from the inside and proceeded to the classrooms and began killing people. When he found out that the police were closing in on him, he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.

I'm still trying to comprehend what's happening over there, even though we're miles and miles apart. I easily get affected by this kind of stuff, I get all emotional. I was near tears just listening to the stories that they were telling about the friends they lost and the panic they felt that day. It just goes to show that it could happen anytime, anywhere. For all we know, it could be happening near our very homes. Forgive me for being a bit paranoid, but I'm just being realistic. Many lives were lost. Those people didn't know what was going on. And most of them didn't know that it was going to be their last day on earth. Lives were unexpectedly cut short; I'm very sure that most of them never got the chance to say their final "goodbyes" and "sorrys". The people who knew them would regret not telling them how much they care for each other, and now, they never will.

Life is too short.

I'm keeping up with the latest developments. They're delving into the gunman's past to find any links to the killings.

Honestly, it could have been prevented; the killings, I mean. Look at it this way: the first attack started around past 7 in the morning. The next attack happened around past 9, two hours later. The people could have warned others that there was a gunman on the loose on campus and that they sould be on their guard. The warning came, AN HOUR LATER. By that time the gunman was already dead! THEY WERE AN HOUR LATE.

I think I'll stop here. I don't want to ramble on and on about this because I simply won't let it go.

A MAD-MAN ON THE RAMPAGE. INNOCENT VICTIMS GUNNED DOWN. KILLER COMMITTS SUICIDE. IT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED.

Alright, I swear I'll stop.

*sigh*

I'll stop.
