LSS OF THE DAY: "I MADE IT THROUGH THE RAIN" BY CARRIE UNDERWOOD AND THE AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 5 FINALISTS
I'm soooo hooked on American Idol. Speaking of which, what was up with Sanjaya's hair?! A mohawk?! Oh, dear lord.
I took these pictures from the T.V. Pretty obvious, huh? Chris Sligh got kicked off. Too bad. I sorta liked him.
I watched the movie 300 with my sister this afternoon. One word: WOW. It was great! The fight scenes were intense, the actors were all buffed up and the drama that was wrapped around the action was superb. Gerard Butler played Leonidas, the king of Sparta; I first discovered him in Tomb Raider part 2, then in the film adaptation of Phantom of the Opera. I fell in love with him then, and I fell even deeper while I was watching the movie; if that's even possible. So many handsome men. So many tall and macho men. I remember one of my friends saying that he turned gay while watching the movie because of all the hot bodies that flashed on screen. And honestly, if I were him, I'd probably be the same. Just saying:) Hehehehe:) Xerxes, the king of Persia, who wanted to conquer the Greeks, was reall, really weird. Lots of piercings and stuff. It was a little unnerving to see him that way. It just freaked the hell out of me.
The movie was based on history; maybe that was what made me so keen on watching it. I love history. I love reading about time long past, especially when they talk about battles and stuff. I would browse through my notes and books on World History and I never tire of reading the same names and places over and over again.
My sister slept through most of the movie. I don't know how she did it, but she just did it. Amazing. Hehehehe:)
I got a few nice lines from the movie. There was this one scene where all of them were already dying, and then one of the soldiers just reaches out for Leonidas' hands and says:
"It is an honor to die by your side, my king".
Then Leonidas says, "And it is an honor to have lived in yours".
At this point, I was already crying. It was really sad; watching all those brave men die in battle, fighting for their freedom. Only 300 Spratans remained to fight with the Persians because the Achadians left them. They were probably outnumbered by 10 to 1 and yet they fought on. They could have held on for a longer period of time, if only that darn hunchback didn't betray them. Oh well.
I am so gonna watch it again when it comes out on DVD.
Me likie:)
Someone keeps on insisting that I call him "my husband" and I should be known as "his wife". It's cute, but I told him not to take it too seriously. It's all in the name of fun. He even went as far as to ask me to elope with him. Dude, I am not your girlfriend. In your dreams:)
I've been bored like hell. Got nothing better to do. I'm considering on getting a summer job again. But, I'm still thinking about it.
Well, that's all for today, folks.
'Til next time!:)
